The Tema Metropolitan Assembly (TMA) has announced plans to construct a model container complex to serve a court facility as part of efforts to address the crude organisation of public spaces within the metropolis.
The decision was announced at an Authority Meeting of the Assembly, where members discussed practical measures to improve spatial planning and public service delivery around key institutions.
The proposed container-based complex will provide designated and organised spaces for court-related services that currently operate in unstructured and congested environments. The initiative is expected to decongest the area, eliminate haphazard structures and enhance the overall outlook of the court surroundings and that of the Tema Metropolitan head office
According to the TMA, the project will serve as a pilot model that will be replicated across the metropolis to bring order to public spaces around the city and other public facilities.
Assembly officials noted that the model will introduce standard layouts, proper zoning and basic amenities, ensuring that public services operate in a more orderly, safe and dignified manner.
The initiative forms part of the Assembly’s broader urban renewal agenda, aimed at modernising public infrastructure and promoting discipline in the use of public spaces across Tema Metroplis
