Mayor of Tema, Hon. Ebi Bright, today visited the Tema Community One Market to sympathize with traders affected by a recent fire outbreak. The incident destroyed goods in eight shops, but extensive damage was averted due to the timely intervention of the Ghana National Fire Service.

During the visit, the Mayor expressed concern about the organization of the market and emphasized the need for improved safety measures and better structural arrangements to prevent future occurrences. She also hinted at plans by the Tema Metropolitan Assembly to introduce an insurance scheme for registered traders to protect them against losses from disasters.

Hon. Ebi Bright assured the affected traders of the Assembly’s support and called for strict adherence to fire safety regulations. She was accompanied by officials of the Assembly, personnel from NADMO, and officers from the Ghana National Fire Service, Tema Command.
