Terrorism is the use of violence and fear to achieve an ideological aim. Terrorist attacks could take many forms, notably, hostage takings, kidnappings, mass shootings, car bombings, and, frequently, suicide bombings.

High-risk targets for acts of terrorism include military and civilian government facilities, international airports, large cities, and high-profile landmarks. Terrorists might also target large public gatherings, water and food supplies, utilities, and corporate centers.

Report Suspicious Activity

If you have seen or heard something that could potentially be related to terrorism, trust your instincts, and report it. Your actions could save lives.

What should I report?

Like other criminals, terrorists need to plan. They need to prepare, buy and store materials, and find ways to fund their activities. Much of this is done in view of the public.

What type of behavior or activity could be considered suspicious?

Some examples of suspicious behavior or activity include:

1- Hiring large vehicles or similar for no obvious reasons

2- Buying or storing a large amount of chemicals, fertilizers or gas cylinders

for no obvious reason

3- Taking notes or photos of security arrangements, or inspecting CCTV

cameras in an unusual way

4- Looking at extremist material or sharing and creating content that promotes or glorifies terrorism

5- Someone receiving deliveries for unusual items bought online

6- Embracing or actively promoting hateful ideas or an extremist ideology

7- Possessing illegal firearms or improvised or home-made weapons –

possibly using household items – or showing an interest in obtaining them

8- Holding passports or other documents in different names, for no obvious

reasons

9- Anyone who goes away travelling for long periods of time but is vague about where

10- Someone carrying out suspicious or unusual bank transactions.

How do I report suspicious behavior or activity?
