The Mayor, Hon. Yohane Amarh Ashitey has today launched the Tema Metro Green Ghana Project at the Community 8 No 4 Cluster of Schools.

The ceremony was attended by representatives from various groups and institutions across the Metropolis. Key amongst them were representative from the industrial sector, two of whom supported the Assembly with a tricycle each, fitted with a tank. These tricycles shall be used by the Horticulture department for watering and nurturing purposes.

Speaking at the event, Hon. Ashitey disclosed that the Assembly will assign 200 seedlings to each Assembly Member to be planted and nurtured. A monitoring mechanism will be put in place to reward Assembly members, who will record the most surviving seedlings in their electoral areas.

The Mayor commended Kingdom Exim Group of Companies and Tema Lube Oil for their generous gesture and he called on other institutions to emulate the gesture.
