Tema Metropolitan Assembly has served notice that illegal transport operators in the Metropolis must put a stop to their operations or face the consequences should they be arrested by a Special Task Force set up jointly by the Police and the Assembly.

Tema Mayor, Hon. Yohane Amarh Ashitey made this known at a meeting held with Transport Operators at the Mankoadze Transport Terminal on Monday.

Mayor Ashitey said this action has become necessary to sanitize the Transportation space in the Port City and also ensure the safety and security of commuters in the city.

Hon. Ashitey hinted that the Special Task Force will commence full scale operation on Monday 16th October 2023.

The Assembly has since deployed its Announcement Vans to disseminate the information to the general public for compliance.
