Tema, Sept. 5 – The Tema Metropolitan Assembly (TMA) has introduced a Smart Office Integration initiative aimed at improving productivity while driving its green agenda for a sustainable metropolis.

The initiative, which forms part of the Assembly’s broader vision to transform Tema into a modern eco-friendly smart city, will digitize operations, reduce paper usage, streamline service delivery and promote energy efficiency.

Speaking at a training programme at the New Assembly Hall, the Metropolitan Chief Executive (MCE), Hon. Ebi Bright, said the move underscored TMA’s commitment to operational excellence and environmental sustainability.

“Productivity and green growth must go hand in hand if Tema is to retain its position as Ghana’s leading industrial city,” she stated.

With support from the Ministry of Local Government, the integration will cover electronic document management, cashless transactions, smart monitoring of air quality and facilities, as well as the creation of greener office spaces to conserve energy and minimize waste.

The MCE also noted that the Assembly would continue to partner with the private sector, civil society organizations and local businesses to advance Tema’s green agenda.

The Smart Office Integration forms part of the “Resetting Tema” programme, designed to blend innovation with environmental stewardship in shaping a resilient city for the future.
