The Mayor of Tema, Hon. Ebi Bright, welcomed the executive committee of the Tema Regional Chapter of the Ghana Chamber of Commerce (GCC) during a courtesy visit to her office on Tuesday, 10th June, 2025.

Presenting concerns on behalf of over four hundred businesses in Tema, the four-member team, led by Ms. Delali Buahini, the Regional Manager, expressed their frustration regarding the poor road network affecting the speed of movement and connectivity, water shortages, and disruptions in power supply within the metropolis, all of which have implications for productivity and other issues.

However, stakeholders can find relief in the significant road rehabilitation works currently underway under the Mayor’s leadership, along the lengthy stretch of road between the harbour roundabout and the Mankoadze roundabout, a vital business route connecting the harbour city to the rest of the world.

Quoting from Adinkra wisdom, Mayor Bright emphasized “wa mi ni mawa bo”, the Ga version of “boa me na mmoa”–indicating her passion for cooperation and interdependence between the business community and the TMA for mutual benefits. Her doors are wide open!

She further indicated that the TMA would provide ample opportunities for businesses, particularly in investment synergies, with the introduction of the 24-Hour Economy Policy of the Government of President John Mahama, through a specialised trade and industry technical implementation desk.
