Residents and businesses operating within the “Greater Tema Metropolitan Area” responded positively the clarion call to keep their frontage clean by coming out in their numbers today Thursday 2nd March 2023 to commence the three- day clean up campaign to herald the 66th Independence Day Anniversary Celebrations in Tema.
Tema Metro has been selected as the host district for the Greater Accra Regional Independence Day celebration scheduled to take place Monday 6th March at the Tema Sports Stadium.
The Regional Minister, Hon. Henry Quartey earlier this week held consultative meetings to outline programmes and activities heralding the event. The Three- day Operation Clean Your Frontage (OCYF) exercise, featured prominently on the schedule and today the exercise kicked- off. Over 800 strong workforce mobilized from the Security Services, The City Response Team, The Environmental Health Officers from the various Assemblies in the Gt Accra Region as well as logistics were deployed across the Metropolis for the exercise, and in usual fashion residents of Tema, educational institutions and businesses turned up in their numbers to support the exercise.
