The Tema Metropolitan Assembly has held its First Session of the 9th Assembly with a call on Corporate Institutions in Tema to support the Assembly’s vision to make Tema Shine again.
Tema Mayor Hon. Yohane Amarh Ashitey emphasized the need for greater collaboration between the Assembly and her development partners to restore Tema to its pride of place as the model Assembly in Ghana.
Mayor Ashitey acknowledged some companies and institutions that have so far responded positively to his call through their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). These include Tema Lube Oil, Cargill Ghana Ltd, Kingdom Exim Group of Companies, GPHA, Pioneer Food Canery (PFC), GNPC, Fidelity Bank and Rotary Club amongst many others who have either pledged or indicated their preparedness to support the Assembly’s transformation agenda.
The session was attended by Assembly Members, Traditional Leaders, CEOs, The Clergy, Leadership of Transport Organizations, Beauticians Associations and other Artisanal Groups.
Tema Mayor, Hon. Yohane Amarh Ashitey yesterday toured BECE Examinations centers in the Metropolis to ensure that everything is well in place for the smooth commencement of the process.
Hon. Ashitey was accompanied by the Metropolitan Director of Education, Mrs. Bernice Ofori and other Officials from the Tema Metropolitan Education Directorate.
The MCE admonished the kids to desist from all forms of examination malpractice but rather focus on what they have been thought over the years. He told them to be confident and approach each session as though it were their routine class quiz and if they do so, they were sure to come out with flying colors, knowing that ” Free SHS” will cater for their secondary education.
