The Tema Metropolitan Assembly (TMA) has undertaken a facelift of the Site 18 Day Care Centre in Community One to improve conditions for early childhood education, even as construction of a five-storey ultra-modern day care facility progresses.

The interim refurbishment is aimed at ensuring that teaching and learning continue in a safe, organised and child-friendly environment while work on the new structure is underway.

Speaking on the initiative, the Mayor of Tema, Ebi Bright, said the Assembly remained committed to upgrading educational infrastructure and expanding access to quality early childhood development.

She noted that the new five-storey facility, when completed, would provide modern classrooms, improved amenities and enhanced learning spaces to meet growing demand within the metropolis.

The facelifted Site 18 centre is already offering relief to pupils, teachers and parents, reflecting the Assembly’s resolve to ensure continuity in education while investing in long-term infrastructure.

The project forms part of broader efforts by the TMA to modernise public facilities and promote organised spaces and fair opportunities for all children in Tema.
