The Tema Metropolitan Assembly today presented items to support the annual Homowo Festival of the Chiefs and People of the Tema Traditional Area.

Presenting the items on behalf of the Assembly and the Government, Hon. Yohane Amarh Ashitey, Mayor of Tema, thanked the Traditional Council for their continued support to the Assembly. He made particular reference to the Council’s collaboration with the Assembly in her successful delivery of very strategic infrastructure in the industrial City of Tema.

These projects include the reconstruction of the Tema Manhean Main Transport Terminal, which has not seen any major face-lift since 1959.

Speaking on behalf of the Tema Traditional Council, Nii Amarh Somponu, thanked the Mayor for his diplomacy and tact in ensuring peace and harmony, during the impasse between the people of Tema and some National institutions.

Accompanying the Mayor to the short but colorful ceremony were the Coordinating Director of the Assembly, Mr. John Nana Owu and Other Officials from the Assembly.
