Tema Metropolitan Chief Executive, Hon. Yohane Amarh Ashitey today paid a courtesy call on the Chiefs and Elders of the Tema Traditional Council to introduce himself formally to them as he assumes duty as the Tema Mayor.
Hon. Ashitey was accompanied to the Tema Palace by Alhaji Shehu Kadiri, Metropolitan Coordinating Director, Hon. Joseph Korto, Presiding Member and National Dean as well as Officials from the Assembly.
Present at the ceremony were a cross section of Tema Manhean residents especially the youth, who had come to exchange pleasantries with the new Mayor whom they described as “the shining star of Tema”.
In his brief remarks to the Council, Hon. Ashitey expressed gratitude to HE the President Nana Akufo Addo for giving him the opportunity to serve the people of Tema, he was full of appreciation to the Elders and indeed the entire citizenry of the Tema Traditional Area for the love that they have shown to him so far.
He expressed the hope that every Tom, Dick and Harry will put their shoulders to the wheel to ensure that together we shall all achieve the “make Tema Shine” agenda.
