The Mayor of Tema, Hon. Ebi Bright, has encouraged final-year students in the metropolis to give their best as they begin this year’s West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE).
On Wednesday, the Mayor visited Chemu Secondary School and Olam Senior High School, where she interacted with candidates sitting for their first paper — the Oral English examination. During the visit, she also presented educational instruments to support the schools and motivate the students.
In her remarks, Hon. Bright urged the candidates to focus on their studies and remain determined, reminding them that their hard work would define their future.
> “You have no other option than to do well. Your families, your community, and the future of Tema are counting on you,” she told the students.
A total of 2,033 final-year students across five schools in the Tema metropolis are taking part in this year’s WASSCE. The distribution is as follows:
Chemu Secondary School – 597 candidates
Olam Senior High School – 512 candidates

The Mayor assured the students of the Assembly’s commitment to strengthening education in the city, adding that Tema must become a hub for academic excellence.
