29th April 2026 The Mayor of Tema, Ebi Bright, commissioned the Naval Wives Association (NAWA) Soap Factory at the Eastern Naval Command, describing the project as a major step towards women’s empowerment and local economic growth.
The initiative, which has grown from modest beginnings into a fully operational production facility, is expected to create jobs, generate income and support families within the naval community.
Mayor Ebi Bright noted that when women are given opportunities, they build thriving enterprises, drive innovation and create lasting impact in society.
Known for her strong passion for women-led entrepreneurship and community-driven initiatives, the Mayor reaffirmed the commitment of the Tema Metropolitan Assembly to supporting businesses and programmes that promote real economic empowerment.
