Insufficient funding hampers efforts to operate, maintain and expand essential wastewater infrastructure, posing significant challenges to public health and environmental sustainability. By improving financial sustainability, Tema can get a step closer to rehabilitate important parts of the wastewater system and attract foreign capital to improve the overall system. This is why the second phase of our Strategic Sector Cooperation (SSC) on water is focused on enhancing the tariff structure for water services, both in terms of collection methods.
Last week, the Aarhus Vand wastewater team worked with staff of Tema Metropolitan Assembly to address some pressing issues.
Through the SSC, Aarhus Kommune (the city of Aarhus) , Aarhus Vand (water utility company), Tema Metropolitan Assembly and Ghana Water Company Limited, are making great strides towards a cleaner, healthier, and more prosperous tomorrow.
