{"id":4747,"date":"2025-10-06T21:30:00","date_gmt":"2025-10-06T21:30:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tma.gov.gh\/?p=4747"},"modified":"2025-10-13T16:43:55","modified_gmt":"2025-10-13T16:43:55","slug":"tma-begins-reset-journey-to-restore-order-and-beauty-in-tema","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tma.gov.gh\/index.php\/tma-begins-reset-journey-to-restore-order-and-beauty-in-tema\/","title":{"rendered":"TMA BEGINS RESET JOURNEY TO RESTORE ORDER AND BEAUTY IN TEMA."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Tema Metropolitan Assembly (TMA) has launched a week-long awareness campaign to regulate the siting of temporary structures, including kiosks, containers, and wooden sheds, within the metropolis.<\/p>\n<p>The initiative, dubbed \u201cThe Reset Journey Begins,\u201d forms part of efforts to restore Tema\u2019s status as Ghana\u2019s first planned city by addressing the growing challenge of unauthorized structures.<\/p>\n<p>The campaign seeks to educate residents and business owners on where temporary structures cannot be placed, especially within designated safety and security zones such as:<\/p>\n<p>School perimeters<\/p>\n<p>Hospital zones<\/p>\n<p>Utility corridors<\/p>\n<p>Government premises<\/p>\n<p>As part of the exercise, the Assembly will also sensitize the public on what qualifies as an unauthorized structure, the process for regularizing existing structures, and the penalties applicable to offenders.<\/p>\n<p>According to the TMA, immediate removal awaits structures located within security zones, while zero tolerance will be applied to new structures erected after July 21. However, there remains a regularization window for those established before that date.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking at a meeting with all Assembly Members on Friday, the Mayor of Tema, Hon. Ebi Bright, reaffirmed her administration\u2019s commitment to restoring order and discipline across the city.<\/p>\n<p>&gt; \u201cTema was built with vision and precision \u2014 a model city not only for Ghana but for Africa. The Reset Journey is not about punishment; it\u2019s about progress. We are renewing the spirit of order, safety, and pride that once defined our metropolis. Together, we will make Tema shine again,\u201d she said<\/p>\n<p>Hon. Bright noted that while enforcement was necessary, the exercise was not intended to destroy livelihoods but rather to protect the city\u2019s long-term future. She emphasized that restoring Tema\u2019s layout and ensuring compliance with planning regulations was central to the Assembly\u2019s development<\/p>\n<p>The Mayor further called on residents, business owners, and community leaders to cooperate fully with the TMA and support the campaign.<\/p>\n<p>She said the exercise was a collective journey of restoration, urging citizens to see it as an opportunity to rebuild a cleaner, safer, and more organized city for current and future generations.<\/p>\n<p>&gt; \u201cEvery great city goes through a renewal phase \u2014 this is ours.
