The Mayor of Tema, Hon. Ebi Bright, has called on national service personnel to rise above uncertainty and lead Ghana\u2019s transformation, declaring that \u201cyou are not the leaders of tomorrow, you are the leaders of today, with responsibilities for tomorrow.\u201d<\/p>\n
Speaking at the National Service Week celebration, she shared her own journey from media and private industry into politics. \u201cI wanted to serve 10 African parliaments, but instead God led me to become Mayor \u2014 the first female Mayor of Tema. Like you, I stood at a crossroads, uncertain of the path ahead,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
The Mayor commended service personnel for their diverse contributions in classrooms, hospitals, courts, industries and local government. \u201cFor one year, you invested your youth, energy and talent in Ghana. That makes you patriots in action, not just in words,\u201d she noted.<\/p>\n
Hon. Bright, however, urged the youth to go beyond job seeking and embrace innovation. \u201cThat inefficiency you documented is not just a complaint, it\u2019s a company waiting to be born. Ghana doesn\u2019t need more job seekers. Ghana needs job creators,\u201d she stressed.<\/p>\n
On patriotism, she was forthright: \u201cWe wave flags during football matches, but curse our country on talk shows. You chose to serve. And that makes you different.\u201d<\/p>\n
She ended with a charge: \u201cThe future isn\u2019t something that happens to you \u2014 it\u2019s something you create. Your time is now. Go lead the change you want to see.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
