DCOP Nana Asomah Hinneh on Thursday April 13, disclosed that the Tema Regional Police Command had acquired a phantom three drone to aid in the fight against crime within the Tema Region.<\/p>\n
This was when executive members of the Tema Chapter of the Ghana Journalists Association paid him a visit to officially welcome him to the region.<\/p>\n
The drone, he said would assist in monitoring crime, large crowds, conducting investigations, search-and-rescues, tactical operations and many more.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are planning to acquire more of the drones to be used to fight crimes, including land guard activities, which are now high in Tema region. We\u2019ll also train more of our personnel to use the drone,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
On the issue of land guards, DCOP Asomah said the police are putting in more effort to get rid of them. He also advised chiefs and land owners to desist from engaging the activities of land guards but to rather use legal means to settle land disputes. He further urged prospective land buyers to research at the Lands Commission to establish the ownership before making payment.<\/p>\n
DCOP Asomah stated that there are currently six Military-Police patrol vehicles positioned at Ashaiman, Dawhenya, Industrial Area, Zenu among others, operating in the Region under the Police Administration\u2019s Operation Calm Life and appealed to the public to help the police by providing relevant information for prompt action.<\/p>\n
Mr Dominic Hlordzi, Tema GJA Chapter Chairman, welcomed the Commander to the Region and asked the police not to hide information from the media under the guise of \u201cstill conducting investigation\u201d, pledging to collaborate with them to protect lives and property.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
