{"id":1297,"date":"2018-03-31T16:38:24","date_gmt":"2018-03-31T16:38:24","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/tma.gov.gh\/?page_id=1297"},"modified":"2018-06-22T08:50:53","modified_gmt":"2018-06-22T08:50:53","slug":"department-of-transport","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/tma.gov.gh\/index.php\/department-of-transport\/","title":{"rendered":"TRANSPORT"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"wpb-content-wrapper\"><div class=\"vc_row wpb_row row wpb_animate_when_almost_visible wpb_right-to-left right-to-left\"><div class=\"wpb_column vc_column_container vc_col-sm-8\"><div class=\"vc_column-inner\"><div class=\"wpb_wrapper\">\n\t<div class=\"wpb_text_column wpb_content_element wpb_animate_when_almost_visible wpb_right-to-left right-to-left\" >\n\t\t<div class=\"wpb_wrapper\">\n\t\t\t<p>The Department of Transport is to assist the Assembly formulate and implement policies on transport services within the framework of national policies.<\/p>\n<p>The Department shall<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>advise the Assembly on matters relating to transport services in the<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Metro.;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>prohibit or restrict the driving of general or any specified vehicles on specified roads or specified direction;<\/li>\n<li>regulate the use and conduct of public vehicles, including the routes and parking places in accordance with the Driver and other detail Vehicle Licensing Authority Act (Act 569);<\/li>\n<li>provide for the identification of licensed vehicles;<\/li>\n<li>license taxis, bicycles and motor bikes and prescribe fees to be paid; (f) establish, acquire and maintain transport services by land or water including ferries;\n<ul>\n<li>maintain records of classified contractors and consultants in the transport services industry within the Metro.;<\/li>\n<li>prepare composite progress and annual reports on transport works in the Metro.;<\/li>\n<li>assist in the review of road designs by consultants for designated roads;
